Spotify is a comparatively new but successful music streaming service. It does not have a presence in the USA as the deal with copyright owners of the music is still being negotiated in the USA. However, it still had 7 million users at the beginning of April this year. Spotify also clarified that out of these 7 million, 320,000 are paying users who pay to avoid seeing advertisements while using the service.

Happy by its progress, Spotify is planning to make its services available on all possible platforms. As its CEO Daniel Ek stated at this week’s SXSWi event, the company intends to make the service available on TV, game console, mobile phones and every other device that can use internet. The company has a large music library and wants to make sure that it can be put to best maximum usage by ensuring that everyone has an access to it. Making it available on daily usage devices will ensure that the success story of Spotify continues.

As a step towards the realisation of this goal, it has entered into a deal with Sony Ericsson according to which Sony Ericsson’s new smartphone the Vivaz will have Spotify installed in it and ready to use before it is sold.

The enormous success of The Beatles paved the way and opened the door for other groups and singers (during the British Invasion of 1964-1966), some of them also managed by Brian Epstein.
